Little Buddy

Friend Tart posted yesterday about Arnie and his Little Buddy, so I thought now might be a good time to post about Little Buddy who is visiting from Brodie Cattle Company. He has been here a few weeks (and probably a few more) to service my girls.

As you can see, Little Buddy ain't so little but he's fairly friendly. Notice that he is pictured with my two bull calves - he seems to like the boys (so far) cause I haven't seen him loving the girls, YET.

Wow! what a guy! Hopefully he'll warm up to the ladies soon, huh? Are you breeding him with other Long Horns or Crossing him w/something else.
(My dad used to breed cattle)

He's registered and breeding with my Registered Longhorns. I have been raising just 2 calves per year so that I can assure quality and friendliness.

What are the attributes of Longhorns as beef cattle?

They look so darn rangey, a person thinks their only attributes are their toughness. Not what you want in eatability.

Actually, Tart, they are a leaner beef that is very good. The ease in caring for them is definitely a plus. They do not have the birthing issues like other breeds and they also wean the babies themselves. In addition, they are not susceptible to diseases. I like their friendliness too.

Yes, I can see where they would a good breed.
